“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts." Zechariah 4:6
We live in a day when the accomplishments of men are staggering. The conquest of space, the harnessing of nuclear power, the unzipping of the human genome with the consequent scrutiny of all its mysteries, the wealth of information instantly accessible through the internet, and the formidable abilities now possessed by any average person owning a palm-sized computer could not have been imagined by previous generations.
With all this power and knowledge in our grasp, one could marvel at what 21st century Christians might do for God. Yet the words of the prophet of old remind us that today as ever, it is not what men accomplish for God that moves His kingdom forward, but only what God is pleased to accomplish through men by the working of His Spirit.
Convinced of this reality, as Grace Missions looks back on 14 years of ministry in Mozambique we want to know not merely what has been accomplished, but even more importantly, who has been doing it.
Truly men can accomplish amazing things in the power of the flesh, but such accomplishments will not endure. When their real worth is tested by fire in the day of God’s judgment, they may shrivel down to nothing (I Cor. 3:11-15). In that day many who now appear to be first will become last, and many who now appear to be least will be first.
And the underlying issue that decides the matter is not what was wrought at their hands, but who was the one doing it (John 15:4-5, Philippians 2:13, Ephesians 2:10).
With this in view, the purpose of this page is to provide articles and accounts of the ways God has shown that He has led in the work.
